Company

We build the layer that
makes the work count.

AI made building software cheap. It made proving it expensive. Haltere is the second layer: the control plane for AI-built software, the receipt that turns agent work into something a company can stand behind.

The mission

Every era of enterprise software
gave the company one new sense.

SAP, for the resources. Salesforce, for the customers. ServiceNow, for the workflows. Palantir, for the data. The agentic era demands the one sense none of them provide: the organization’s understanding of itself: what its software truly is, what it’s doing right now, and proof of both, accurate by construction. Machines are joining the workforce, and every serious institution will soon ask the same question: who governs the machines doing the work? Haltere exists so the answer is: you do.

The name

Why “Haltere”

hal·tere (noun)
hal-TAIR — like “tear it up” · the fly’s gyroscopic organ

Haltere is named after one of nature’s most elegant engineering solutions. A haltere is a tiny organ found only on flies. Millions of years ago, evolution transformed the fly’s second pair of wings into two small gyroscopic sensors. Rather than generating lift, halteres continuously detect rotation through space, giving the fly an extraordinary sense of orientation, balance, and stability. They are one of the reasons flies can perform impossibly fast, precise maneuvers that other insects cannot.

That idea is the foundation of our company. The future of AI is not limited by intelligence. It is limited by orientation. Models are becoming increasingly capable, but enterprises remain extraordinarily complex: countless systems, documents, APIs, regulations, workflows, and human decisions, all constantly changing. Without an accurate understanding of context, dependencies, and change, even the most advanced AI struggles to act reliably.

Haltere exists to solve that problem. Orientation is what makes control possible. The map keeps your agents oriented: where the system is, what has changed, what depends on what, what should happen next. The gates decide what may change. The receipt proves what did, and who approved it. Just as biological halteres allow a fly to navigate the physical world with incredible precision, Haltere lets AI navigate, and change, the complexity of a modern organization without ever losing control.

The metaphor is intentionally timeless. As models become more powerful, the need for orientation only increases. Haltere is not another model competing for intelligence; it is the system that makes intelligence useful inside the real world. The most important breakthroughs are rarely the largest or most visible. They are the small, foundational systems that make everything else possible. Let agents fly. Keep software under control.

Named in August 2026, when the company finally had a name that says what it does.

Why we exist

The work got faster.
The accountability didn’t.

Every economic revolution has two layers: the one that does the work, and the one that makes the work count. Agents are the first layer, and they arrived fast. The second was never built.

And the second layer runs on a different kind of trust. Not assumed, not promised, produced: at the gate, by what happened there, on the record.

That’s the company.

Read the doctrine

Founders

One of us lived the problem.
One of us built the answer.

A commercial founder from inside regulated industry, and a technical founder who has run production systems for enterprises. We introduce ourselves in person: write to us and a founder replies within one business day.

Haltere builds Haltere

We don’t demo the receipt.
We run on it.

Every line of Haltere ships through Haltere. Every commit since the first receipt carries one, by construction. The first receipt we ever issued was our own. If it couldn’t answer to us, we wouldn’t hand it to you.

How we work

Built to be relied on.

Three commitments, enforced by the product, not promised by the team.

Prove everything.

Every change answers for itself: provenance, policy, and approval, emitted by construction. You don’t take our word for it. You read the receipt.

You keep the asset.

The map and the receipts live in your environment, in open, queryable formats. When an engagement ends, you keep them. The lock-in is inverted, deliberately.

Neutral by construction.

Model-agnostic, cloud-agnostic, portable. The layer that proves AI-built software can’t be owned by the people selling the agents, so we built it to be unaffiliated.

A record you remember to keep is a diary. A record the build can’t ship without is a standard.

Start with one workflow.

Bring the workflow AI should run but can’t be trusted with yet. We stand it up as a governed service: a copy of the same reference template every time, not a bespoke consulting build. You keep the map and the receipts.

No newsletter. No drip sequence. Every request gets a real reply within one business day — from someone who can answer it.
